Innovations in Design, Analysis, and Dissemination: Frontiers in Biostatistics and Data Science (IDAD) is a longstanding regional conference dedicated to advancing quantitative research across the Midwest and beyond. Founded in 2007, IDAD is now approaching its 20th anniversary, with 2026 marking its 19th annual meeting. Over nearly two decades, IDAD has grown into a premier forum for biostatisticians, data scientists, and interdisciplinary researchers to exchange ideas at the forefront of methodological innovation and applied data science.

Historically held each April in Kansas City, the two-day meeting features distinguished keynote lectures, short courses, invited and contributed presentations, and a poster session showcasing emerging scholarship. Throughout its history, IDAD has welcomed dozens of American Statistical Association (ASA) Fellows and other internationally recognized leaders in statistics and data science. At the same time, it has remained committed to elevating emerging voices in the field, providing a platform for early-career investigators and trainees to present innovative work spanning design, analysis, and dissemination of scientific research.

New in 2026, IDAD will be intentionally paired with the ASA Dionne Price Public Lecture Series, a signature public-facing event hosted by the Department of Biostatistics & Data Science. While distinct in mission, the alignment of these events reflects a shared commitment to advancing statistical science within both the research community and the broader public. Together, they create a unique opportunity to connect cutting-edge methodological innovation with meaningful real-world impact.
